From an idea to a movement.
Vunulu Luhya Vibes is a Kenyan cultural events brand championing Luhya music, language, food, and identity through unforgettable live experiences.
We exist where heritage meets the present — a drum pattern carrying a modern bassline, a chorus in Luhya finding its way into a streetwear crowd, a grandmother's recipe served beside the speaker stack. Every Vulai event is designed to feel like a homecoming whether you grew up in Western Kenya or first encountered the culture through a friend.
What started as a single night at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre on 2 August 2025 is now a multi-city circuit, an ongoing cultural-immersion programme called Ingoo Experience, and a growing creative community of artists, organisers, photographers, and partners.
Mission & Vision
Mission
To celebrate and amplify Luhya culture through world-class music festivals, cultural showcases, and storytelling — and to give the artists, food makers, and creators of Western Kenya stages large enough to match their talent.
Vision
A future in which Luhya music, language, and lifestyle are recognised, exported, and celebrated alongside any other major cultural movement on the continent — with Vunulu Luhya Vibes as the home stage.
Values
Pride in heritage. Excellence in production. Hospitality in every detail. Community over hierarchy. Generosity with the spotlight.
Milestones.
Three chapters in, and we're already looking at the fourth.
The first ever Vulai Festival lit up the heart of Nairobi from dusk till dawn. Drum patterns blending with modern bass, traditional dress meeting streetwear, and a crowd that turned every chorus into a chant. By morning, the team was already calling it the biggest chapter of Luhya music written in Kenyan history.
Five months after KICC, Vulai came home. Authentic Luhya food on every corner, traditional rhythms feeding into modern hits, and a crowd that treated every set like a family reunion. Vulai isn't just an event in Kakamega — it's a homecoming.
Vulai swapped the highlands for the coast. A lineup fifteen artists deep — comedy, gospel, hip-hop and traditional Luhya music in one night on the white sand of Nyali. They came for the music; they left already asking when the next coast edition lands.

Ingoo Experience.
More than a festival — a living archive of Luhya culture.
Ingoo Experience is the cultural-immersion strand we weave through every Vulai event. It is storytelling, traditional dance, regional food, and showcases of emerging Western Kenyan talent. It debuted as part of the Kakamega edition in December 2025 and now travels with the festival — giving the music a deeper context, and giving the audience something to take home other than memories.
